| Plugin | An extension that modifies Nuvio's interface or adds specific local features, distinct from content-scraping addons. |
| Manifest | A JSON file that tells Nuvio what an addon can do and where its content is. |
| Debrid | A premium service that provides high-speed, cached streams for content. |
| Cached Stream | A media file already stored on a Debrid server, allowing for instant, buffer-free playback without relying on peer-to-peer sharing. |
| Trakt | A third-party service that tracks what you watch across different apps and syncs your progress. |
| TMDB | The Movie Database; a community-built resource used by Nuvio to pull in rich metadata like posters, synopses, and cast lists. |
| MDBList | A third-party service used to create custom, dynamically updating content catalogs based on specific ratings or filters. |
| Metadata | The supplementary information about your media, such as plot summaries, release dates, and thumbnail artwork. |
| Catalog | A curated row or category of content displayed directly on the Nuvio home screen. |
| Scraper | The part of an addon that "searches" the internet for stream links. |
| MPV | The powerful underlying video player software backend that Nuvio uses to play streams. |

| Libass | An advanced subtitle rendering engine used to properly display highly stylized text, commonly used in anime (ASS/SSA formats). |
| APK / IPA | The installation file formats for Android and iOS, respectively. |
| Sideloading | Installing an app from outside an official app store. |
| Remux | A pristine, uncompressed rip of a Blu-ray disc offering maximum video and audio quality. |
